About the Musical

When 67 year-old Sarah gives birth to a seed in her small, lifelong-hometown, her spouse of forty years reminisces and reacts to the unprecedented magic unfolding around him.

SARAH AND THE SEED guides audiences through wonder and nightmares alike, offering a meditation on resilience, hope, and trust. It is a musical that balances universal themes alongside beauty, laughter, and versatility – with potential for unforgettable productions of all budgets and “stages,” from community centers to amphitheaters to radio play! 

Based on the comic by Ryan Andrews, SARAH AND THE SEED was co-adapted for the stage by Juliet Mazer-Schmidt Jr. (books & lyrics) and Jonathan Wagner (music, books, & lyrics).
